Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10 Compatibility

We have tried out our software and machines running Windows Vista and Windows 7. Read on to see what we found…

Denford Software with Windows XP, Windows 732 bit, Windows 864 bit and Windows 1032 +64bit tests

Please note that some users are reporting blank 3D windows in programs such as VR Milling and QuickCAM . This is a problem with the new OS and the graphics card drivers as the same problem appears in other software that uses OpenGL. We recommend updating to the very latest drivers from the graphics card manufacturers website.

NB, These are straightforward tests carried out by us on a PC which had:
Windows Vista 32bit Business edition (Final release)
Windows 7 Professional, pre-installed from new.
Windows 8 Professional – upgrade from Win7 Home Premium
Windows 10 Professional, pre-install from new.

The results shown are based on our findings and may not be representative of results obtained using other hardware, versions of Denford software, version of Vista/Win7/Win8 or future Vista/Win7/Win8 updates / patches.
NB – The XP/Program Compatability wizard was NOT used in Windows 7/8 tests

** Device Driver notes for Windows 8
Windows 8 will not install unsigned drivers “out of the box”.
However, you can change a setting in advanced startup options. The option is “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”
This forum post shows how to change the setting.
